Returning as our Saturday night square dance band is Vancouver Island’s Black Rabbit Rounders. With a repertoire of fiddle tunes and old songs from across Appalachia and the Midwest, the Black Rabbit Rounders give it all they’ve got and more, playing hard-driving old-time music with passion and a groove that won’t quit.
Max Evans is an accomplished fiddler who has been playing old-time and bluegrass with his brother Frank Evans since they were young. Frank went on to play with his Juno-nominated band The Slocan Ramblers, while Max went on to form The All Day Breakfast Stringband, an award-winning band two years running at the Appalachian Stringband Festival in Clifftop, West Virginia. Sarra Evans first met Max through the old time scene in Vancouver and the two have been playing together since. They are joined by Matt James from The All Day Breakfast Stringband on banjo.
