J. R. Proctor

A big welcome to festival newcomer J.R. Proctor, a talented songwriter and musician from Victoria. While his songs are rooted in the folk tradition – and are influenced by his time spent performing bluegrass and old-time music  including  Vancouver’s Stardust Stringband
– he explores themes that extend beyond the confines of any particular genre. He recently released Daydream Sommelier, J.R.’s first release of original material.
Joining him for the Cowichan Valley Bluegrass Festival are Miles Zurawell, the talented dobro/banjo payer for Greg Blake and Real Country, and Ben Barrett-Forrest (fiddle).
