Bilingual bluegrass comes to Cowichan in 2023 with Veranda, a Quebec band led by Léandre Joly-Pelletier and Catherine-Audrey Lachapelle and backed by a stellar cast of supporting musicians.

Léandre Joly-Pelletier (guitar) is a sought-after multi-instrumentalist who has worked extensively with many well-established folk, country and bluegrass artists such as Sara Dufour, Laurence Jalbert, and NotreDame-de-Grass over the last decade.

Catherine-Audrey Lachapelle is a professional actress known for her role in Radio-Canada’s hit TV show District 31, for which she was nominated for best actress in a supporting role at the prestigious “Gala Quebec Cinema” in 2016.

After a well-received first EP released in 2019, Veranda presents bluegrass in both French and English, blending  traditional and contemporary sounds in the styles of  Dolly Parton, Ralph Stanley and Emmylou Harris.

Léandre and Catherine are joined by Kieran Poile on fiddle and Jean-Philippe Demer-Lelotte on bass.
