A new festival with deep roots

The Cowichan Valley Bluegrass Festival is thrilled to announce its inaugural event at Laketown Ranch Music Park, Lake Cowichan, B.C. on Father’s Day weekend June 14-16 2019.

With unlimited camping, a cozy western town setting with 5,800 sq. ft of covered performance area, tents for acoustic jam sessions and our signature Saturday night square dance, the all-ages festival will bring a new experience to fans familiar with our former site at Sooke, B.C. which we had outgrown after 16 successful festivals.

Nestled amid the high hills of the beautiful Cowichan Valley, the site is close to the numerous amenities of the area including wineries, lakes, hiking, cycling, house boating and all that the gorgeous region has to offer.

To launch our festival at our exciting new location, we are thrilled to have three-time Grammy nominee Claire Lynch and two bands familiar to our previous festival patrons – Toronto’s the Slocan Ramblers and The Lonely Heartstring Band from Boston. We are equally excited to have top local and regional artists Nomad Jones, The Sweet Lowdown, the High Quadra Ramblers, Jenny Lester, Clover Point Drifters, Omie Wise, Genevieve and the Wild Sundays, Adam Iredale-Gray, The Evans Family and Paul Silveria.
