“Their musicianship, songwriting, and artistic vision all reflect a deep respect for the tradition, while pushing creatively into fresh territory. Their sound is rooted, yet forward thinking – exactly what our genre needs to stay vibrant and relevant.”

Remedy Tree is a Florida-based group blending Americana with a bluegrass sound worthy of second place at the traditionalist SPBGMA National Band Championship.

Founded in 2015 by Gabriel and Abigail Acevedo as an indie-folk group, they quickly launched themselves on a bluegrass trajectory and were selected as an IBMA showcase band in 2023. Gabriel Acevedo was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico and was raised in rural Umatilla, Florida. His Puerto Rican heritage and upbringing provides an outsider’s approach to the genre.

Gabriel and Abigail are joined by Nathan Beaumont on mandolin and Isaac Taylor on banjo.

Following their signing with Mountain Fever Records in 2024, the band has performed internationally, showcasing at Ireland’s Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival. Remedy Tree has shared the stage with legendary artists such as Peter Rowan, The Steeldrivers, Ricky Skaggs, Town Mountain, Rhonda Vincent, and Della Mae. They were joined at Nashville’s legendary The Station Inn by multiple Grammy and IBMA winning fiddle Jason Carter who also guested on multiple tracks  for their 2025 album Beyond What I Can See.

An original music band at heart, Remedy Tree combines the love for bluegrass with an Appalachian old-time spirit.
